Worldwide Business with kathy ireland® is pleased to announce an exclusive interview with Brad Barron, founder and CEO of My Secure Advantage, to discuss their financial wellness program for employees that transforms financial health to deliver peace of mind.

Started in 1986, Brad Barron’s employee benefits company has served millions of employees and thousands of companies, including Fortune 500’s. MSA is the only financial wellness program developed to help employees and their families create and reach their financial goals. MSA’s services are confidential and guilt-free, with one-on-one telephonic money coaching.

“I think it’s complexity,” says Barron. “Whether we’re working with people who are living paycheck to paycheck, have student loan debt, or are getting a divorce, or needing help with a retirement plan. We’ve found that people are dealing with five different financial issues at the same time that need to be resolved in order for them to accomplish their primary goal. Like it or not, we live in a world where money is at the center of everything we do. Unfortunately, most people don’t have adequate training or education on the topic, which is why it’s the leading cause of stress in this country.”

Finances top the list of things employees worry about, but this multi-dimensional education platform combines money coaches and technology to encourage and lead people to change their behaviors toward money.

“This concept is amazing,” says J.L. Haber, Vice President of Programming for Worldwide Business. “As an independent company, My Secure Advantage can be totally transparent without ulterior motives. This is a service employers can embrace without reservation.”

File says Smollett couldn't contact brothers after arrest

May 24, 2019

CHICAGO — One of Jussie Smollett's conditions after posting $10,000 bail amid charges he lied about being the victim of a racist, anti-gay attack was that he have no contact with two brothers police say he paid to help stage the incident, according to a case file unsealed Thursday in Chicago. Besides that detail, the "Empire" actor's criminal case file appears to contain little new information. The bulk of the more-than-250-page file centers on the legal battle between media organizations that wanted access to the file and Smollett's attorneys who wanted it kept sealed. In his order for the file...

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit between a former manager of Michael Jackson and his estate. The settlement announced Thursday with Tohme Tohme (TOH'-mae TOH'-mae) ends one of the last remaining legal fights involving Jackson's estate and comes just short of the 10th anniversary of the pop superstar's death. The deal came after five days of the trial had already been held. Terms of the agreement were not released. Tohme had initially sought nearly $20 million in commissions from the Jackson estate when he first filed the lawsuit in 2012. "The estate acknowledges his...

GLAAD: LGBTQ representation in film is up, but not for all

May 24, 2019

LOS ANGELES — The advocacy organization GLAAD says that LGBTQ representation is up for major studio films released in 2018, but that none included transgender characters. Of the 110 movies surveyed, 20, or 18.2%, contained an LGBTQ character. This is a significant improvement from 2017's all-time low of 12.8% and the second-highest in the seven years that GLAAD has been doing the report. Both 20th Century Fox and Universal received "good" ratings for their individual contributions for releases like "Bohemian Rhapsody," ''Love, Simon" and "Blockers," while the Walt Disney Co. and Lionsgate were given failing grades. Others received the marker...
