Jacksonville Lutheran Church Celebrates 90 Years of Faithful Service

Trinity Lutheran Church is a servant church in the heart of the Riverside and Avondale areas of Jacksonville, FL. Trinity’s focus of worship revolves around grace, forgiveness, acceptance, and love.

Members of Trinity Lutheran Church range in age from 103 years young to just a few months old. Trinity welcomes diversity and encourages fresh thinking. Members are considered to be family and participate in a variety of christian related activities including lunch gatherings, coffee hour, young adult groups, and much more.

Trinity offers an extensive prayer ministry which includes prayer partners from across the globe. Trinity’s prayer ministry also shares a popular prayer labyrinth with the larger community at various times of the year. Trinity’s prayer labyrinth has been featured in the Jacksonville news media on multiple occasions.

The Jacksonville Lutheran church provides various educational programs for Jacksonville youth. Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a day-long event featuring action-packed Bible activities for young children. Discipleship Training (Confirmation) is provided for youth 6th – 8th grade. It is taught during the Sunday School hour by rotating teams of two lay adults using a curriculum that covers the Bible, church history, and the creeds.

Every Sunday morning, Trinity provides adults with a take-away meeting. People of all ages engage in a fresh and lively discussion about the week’s Gospel Lesson and how it applies to life in the 21st Century. No question is out of bounds and no opinion is discounted. This class is led by a rotating team of volunteer moderators using a Pastor-prepared curriculum.

Trinity Lutheran Church is also well known for the Jacksonville Food Pantry ministry. This ministry serves individuals and families who are without enough food to eat. There are many different jobs to do including bagging bread and baked goods, data entry, cleaning, packing, unloading food into the pantry and waiting on clients. Volunteers come from Trinity, other churches, the military, schools and individuals who want to be part of helping to feed the hungry. Help is always needed.
