Spring is almost here, and for many people, that means spring storms are about to start. But one retailer is urging people to remember that not all spring rains are light and pleasant, but some are fierce and can cause a lot of damage.

“It’s a misconception that spring rains are always nice,” says a spokesman from MJH Innovations, an online retailer that sells quality products at reasonable prices, like the My Pocket Lite LED Flashlight. “And so the best thing people can do is to prepare for them by making sure their flashlight has working batteries, along with some backups in case the storm last longer than expected.”

He’s right. Spring storms are often known to cause power outages and even damage to homes by knocking down trees, which can cause roof damage if they land on it.

“In addition to the obvious reasons for having flashlights around in a storm, like being able to see, and checking outdoors for damage, people can use them to help calm their kids when a storm is raging outside. Kids don’t like to sit in the dark, and a flashlight will not only provide light, but it can be used to play games that will take young minds off of booming thunder and lighting,” he says.

Spring storms can not only bring torrential rain, but many of them come with tornadoes and heavy winds that damage roofs and cause major debris to pile up on people’s property. A flashlight is a good things to have around the house in case one of these fierce storms hits. “The key,” says the spokesman, “Is to make sure you purchase a quality flashlight that will work when you need it to. There’s nothing worse than a flashlight that won’t work when you need it to.”
